Konkan Alphonso Harvest Down 75% This Season

Unseasonal rains reshape Maharashtra's Alphonso season

Culture alphonsomangoeskonkan

Konkan's Alphonso mango production stands at 25% of normal levels this season following unseasonal rains during crucial flowering and fruit-setting stages between late December and February.

The weather shift has sent wholesale prices to ₹2,000-₹6,000 per box, with premium-grade fruit reaching ₹5,500-₹6,000. Ratnagiri growers report that around 20% of the mango crop has survived the unseasonal rains.

Devgad and Sindhudurg supplies will drop sharply after May 10, while Ratnagiri fruit may last only until May 25.
