Mahim Koliwada Gets Its First Cloud Kitchen
Women-led fish farmers bring Koli food online, year-round
Mahim Koliwada launched its first permanent cloud kitchen last week, giving the neighbourhood a year-round alternative to its seasonal seafood plaza, according to the Times of India.
The venture is run by the Daryavardi Producer Company Limited (DPCL), Bombay's largest women-led fish farmer producer organisation. The kitchen will serve lunch and dinner, with a menu built around Koli staples: gravies, bhakri, rice, and fried fish.
For a community whose food has long been confined to plaza stalls and home tables, a cloud kitchen format means wider reach without leaving the Koliwada. Bas, ab ghar ka khaana ghar se bahar.
